I want to share this information on a fire extinguisher recall program that may apply to many Ranger Tug owners. We have a 2015 R21 EC with factory extinguisher, but as best I can tell Ranger equipped many of their boats with similar extinguishers to ours. Here's the information on the scope of the recall:
Name of product: Kidde fire extinguishers with plastic handles
Hazard: The fire extinguishers can become clogged or require excessive force to discharge and can fail to activate during a fire emergency. In addition, the nozzle can detach with enough force to pose an impact hazard.
Remedy: Replace
Recall date: November 2, 2017
Units: About 37.8 million (in addition, 2.7 million in Canada and 6,730 in Mexico)
And here's a link to the recall website:
https://cpsc.gov/Recalls/2017/kidde-rec ... charge-and
Our unit will be replaced free of charge. Call Kidde and they will verify the unit and send you a new one.
Hope this is of help, we feel fortunate to have such a great resource in Tugnuts, just wanted to share my information.
