At last year's Ranger Rendezvous, I won a $300 gift certificate at the auction (with a $95 bid) from professional photographer Chris Leavitt in Federal Way, Wash. Chris was very good about choosing just the right time, day, setting, etc. to get some good pictures of the Red Ranger, etc.

Here is one of the Red Ranger in Elliott Bay in front of the Seattle landscape. I have a couple more pictures in my photo gallery. If any of you have ever thought about having a professional photographer take some great pictures of you and your boat, I would highly recommend it. It's not cheap, but in the long run you'll be glad you made the investment.

I was in the photography business for over 30 years; we had a saying: "A beautiful portrait isn't expensive, it's priceless!"

Very nice image!

One thing this photo demonstrates is the importance of composition. The way the boat is positioned against the background and to the left of the frame. We amateurs usually just try to get the boat somewhere in the viewfinder and shoot.
