Does anyone have any advice or checks to run before the first run of the season. We winterized our Cutwater 30CB with the volvo diesel in the slip in atlantic coast area. Had it professionally done, added engine room heater, checked it frequently. Now we want to make sure we do all we can to have a successful start up. The boat was new last season so this is our first post winter run. Would love to avoid any pitfalls. Also any tips for maintenance as well.

do you have the list of things done by the professionals you mentioned to winterize it? I'm guessing some of those will need to be "un-done". I'd certainly check all hoses, fluids, sea-cocks, bilge pump and float operation, tighten down all loose cable connections, etc. Others will have additional items that aren't coming to mind for me. I use my boat all winter here in Seattle, so "winterizing" is situational if i'm not on it and temps are dropping well below freezing.

In addition to Dave’s good advice make sure to put the plug in. I’d also add to launch the boat or have it launched on a quiet day, not on the weekend or late in the day. During week day hours if you have questions you’ll be able to get ahold of your dealer or your Cutwater factory delivery team as well as not having to be rushed if there is a backup at the launch ramp. Make sure fuel lever is in the open position, transmission lever is in neutral….you’d be surprised how many get tripped up on this, as when it is NOT in neutral the engine will not start, it acts like the batteries are dead. Check all fluid levels. Be familiar with the battery parallel switch in case the start battery is weak. Turn the battery levers to the on position. Have your dock lines attached and fenders ready to deploy. Lastly take it slow.
