I may be the odd one out here, but I fish and crab using my 2019 R29 CB. For the fishing I had theVolvo low-speed feature added to my Penta 300HP engine and that works very nicely for me. It can move the boat nicely from 1.25 kts up to 3.5 kts as desired. I even setup Auto pilot heading at these speeds so can concentrate on the fishing with making a lookout on port and starboard sides. Moving at low speed makes it possible to avoid other boats.
I use Scotty downriver (just one on port side, and a pot puller with extension arm on starboard side. The extension does a good job in keeping the pot off the hull when rocking & rolling. I can use swim step to stow the crab pot, as well as a good sized cooler box.
If I need to get to a fishing spot quickly I can move along at a good 25 mph.
