For what it is worth here is my two cents on the topic: We bought our R27 in 2014 from Segate in Stuart and they were great to work with. I live in Apalachicola now after moving south from Kentucky and have personally dealt with Marc Grove and the guys and gals at Wefing's and they are a great bunch of folks. I would not hesitate in the least to work with either again. As for being close to an authorized Penta Service Center it may be a little more convenient, but they will come to you if needed. (We had a cracked injector line and they travelled from Panama City to do the work on our boat), however the other systems and components on these fine boats are such that any competent marine mechanic should be able to service them. I wouldn't let distance to a dealer be much of a factor in a decision to purchase a Ranger Tug - we bought ours about 900 miles from where we lived at the time. The factory will respond quickly and eagerly if you have questions or help of any sort. If in the vicinity of the northern Gulf of Mexico Edgewater Yacht Sales in Pensacola is the place to go.
