For several years I've always folded my helmsman seat up and forward when leaving the boat at the dock. Thus the seat can stay in this position for extended periods at times.
I've noticed that because of this the seat covering has started to permanently crease in places. I suspect that over time these creases may very well develop into cracks and mean replacing the seating material to regain its new look. Because of this I'm now avoiding folding the seat up and forward unless needed for extra galley countertop surface area.
What are others doing to prolong the life of the helmsman's seat material? Do you apply some lotion periodically to keep it looking clean and soft ?
Thanks... 🙂
