My wife would like a foot rest on "her" side of the boat. Perhaps something not as nice (expensive) as the one standard at the helm on our 2012 R25 SC. Has anyone purchased and installed one? Advice on where to get one, cost and installation would be appreciated. Thanks.

I installed one made by Garelick, http://www.garelick.com/Oak-Footrest , with stainless steel screws. It folds up out of the way when not in use and and has worked quite well. We got the teak one.

Try Defender. I bought one there for my C-Dory several years ago. Can't remember the price. I would suggest removing the head panel in the V-berth and use large fender washers or a thin piece of plywood and bolt it through.

I am not sure if the foot rest we have on our 2009 R25 classic came factory standard or if it was added by the dealer. We bought the boat new out of Traverse City, MI and it came with a port side passenger seat foot rest already installed. Jeff Marcum, on The Get-Aweigh (2010 R25 classic), also has one installed on his boat and his was purchased new. You might contact the factory and ask about availability.

I have installed a Garelick. You can see a photo in my "Osprey"photo album, page 3. The search function using "step" will get you there. I recommend this boat modification. The step makes sitting on the port side much more comfortable.

How about something portable like a foot stool. Nita likes the folding stool it works great for her and is cheap.

Also, I met a fellow Tugger in Ganges that uses the side ladder for roof access as his footrest, he just bought a few more brackets and installed them in front of the passenger seat. The additional brackets could be bought from Ranger.

I keep my little black tool box there. Works great, just the right height for Yvonne. Price: 0 Peace and Comfort: Priceless.

My navigator uses the Yanmar spare parts box as her footrest. As Allen said, "priceless." I do like the idea of using the side ladder there. It's a good spot to store it.
