With a 2008 21 EC which did not come with a foot rest for the passenger seat, can a foot rest be ordered from the factory? Is the foot rest a complicated or simple matter to install? It almost looks from pictures as though it screws or bolts to the panels. Does the foot rest rotate or is it fixed? Is there a standard position for the fastenings? Thanks, Sketchrbob in Maine

I just received the footrest from Ranger for my 2008 21ec..it looks like you can place a backing piece of hardwood behind the cabinet and mount the hardware pieces thru the fibreglass onto the backing pieces. Measure carefully. You may have to take a small section of trim wood away from the cabinet door trim to get the female mounting piece to move away from the curved surface at the edge of the cabinet. I will be mounting mine next week and will advise .

I have a 2008 EC 21 without footrest. I simply invested in an aluminium 1 step from the local hardware. Works fine, is very stable and can be put away when not needed.

Thanks, Ogger, I was wondering if there wasn't an alternative way to make the foot rest. I was not really happy with the bar the factory supplies. Is the aluminum step like a step stool? Can you tell how high this is and would it be the right height for a person 5' 2"? Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best! Sketchrbob

Completing my earlier comment re installing the footrest, it is very easy to do on the 2008 21ec and only requires a small indentation in the wood trim on the cabinet door and a couple of wood backing plates.
