I’ve been playing around with vibe coding and built a little app that lets you check forecast conditions between Anacortes and Waldron. Not very useful to most (or any?) of you, but figured I’d still share because it shows what’s possible these days to build on your own. It makes seas predictions based on wind and current interactions, checks for fog at nearby airports, checks fuel prices, and pulls weather data from a dozen different sources. Details on sources and calculation methodology at bottom of app.
I keep tinkering with it, and am now planning to add a raspberry pi tied into the NMEA 2000 boat network so I can have fully automated logging of trips complete with fuel burn and engine performance numbers.
