With the R-25 docked or at anchor is the forward stateroom's mattress completely horizontal or is it inclined one way or the other, even if only slightly? Thanks.... 🙂

P.S. Our R-25 will not be delivered until July 15.

Most R-25s tend to list to Port ever so slightly, because 4 batteries, the charger, the generator and the airconditioner are all on the port side.

That said, I never notice it when lying in the forward bed. I put the heavier spouse (not me!) on the starboard side....

Sparky-
Does your spouse read your posts? If so,those were brave words.

I think Sparky is the girl spouse! At least that's what I've inferred from earlier posts. If so, for the record, most of us boy spouses expect to be heavier and have thicker skin on the weight issue! After all, we're movable ballast!

I believe the term used by my wife for me is "supercargo".

On ours it is pretty much horizontal. This boat handles weight distribution much better then other boats that I have had.

In the water, I think the forward part of the v-berth is slightly elevated. That puts your feet a little higher than your head (when sleeping two people, there isn't room to sleep with heads forward, sleeping alone - it's fine)

We add a cushion under our head area to elevate it slightly - it helps.

I'm anxious to hear from (oops, I forget) one owner that built up the berth - raising it to increase the width at the bow.

Yes, Sparky is the wife! Can't really explain how I got this nickname, since I am a CPA and have never been electrocuted (my brother's guess).... And yes my husband weighs about 55 lbs more than me (ok, he is also a foot taller!). Since I am self employed and work part time, it falls on me to learn the boat and handle the maintenance, which is fine with me. Husband knows a lot of this stuff from 26 years in the Navy, though the R-25 and a submarine tend to handle a bit different!

hey mac, steve, [notaclue] i raised our bunk over 14 inches,,, less head room but we are usually horizontal when sleeping any way,, it made room for a great clothes drawer under,, check out my album and you can see the details.. as i have stated before this modification is not for every one but certainly works well for us,,, steve and tina, looking forward to meeting everyone in sept] later

Sparky,
Tell your bubblehead husband that there are several submariners on this website & the C-Brats site. Always room for another.
