Good day to all. We are on our third Ranger tug but are new to Tugnuts. I may be asking an old question but cant find anything specific on this subject. According to the spec sheet, a ranger 29 has a 60 gal fresh water capacity. After running out at anchor much earlier than expected, I measured a “from empty” fill up when we got home. The tank overflowed at 36 gallons. I suspect that the fresh water number of 60 gals includes the water heater...even though what is in it is unreachable when your main tank is empty ....so useable water is give or take 40 gals which is a looong way from the 60 gallon spec. Am I missing something, doing something wrong, or is this just a complete joke of a specification.

Thanks very much for any input
Happy boating

I own the 2019 R29 CB NW Edition and....

FYI...

Fuel capacity: 145 gallons (although I was told it was 150, and I have put at least 145 gallons in it and configure Garmin with 145).

Fresh water capacity: 60 gallons (have not verified this though)

Holding tank capacity: 40 gallons

Hot water heater capacity: 11 gallons.

Apart from the fuel tank I have not tried to verify the other capacities.

Thanks for your thoughts... Please let me know if you find different values for the fresh water situation on your boat..

On the Tugnuts home page, on the left side, is a PDF copy of the R-29 owners manual. It lists the fresh water as 60 gals.

I have no idea how much water the R-29 holds and how Fluid Motion figures capacity's. I knew the C26 and C28 have a fresh water capacity of 40gals in all of their literature. When I purchased the boat I was under the impression we had a 40 gallon usable water capacity. When I added a whole house water filter to the fresh water system, changed the raw water flush head to fresh water flush, I had to do some plumbing changes at the water tank (adding a shut off valve between tank and pump) I looked at the water tanks capacity sticker. It was a 30 gallon tank not a 40 gallon tank. I questioned Fluid Motion about this (thinking the wrong tank was installed) the feed back was the capacity is the combined capacity of the water tank and the hot water tank. 30 gallon water tank plus 6 gallon hot water tank equals 36 gallons of water on board but only 30 gallons usable. I still have never been able to figure out how they came up with 40 gallon capacity!

FYI. The specs on the online show 145 gal. of fuel capacity, not 150 .

Well, according to my fuel pumping and 1st day training I was told it was 150 gallons. No matter, I configured Garmin's full fuel tank capacity to be 145 gallons. Without actually seeing the tank's label that states its capacity I cannot really know the exact tank's capacity.
