So we're on our maiden voyage on our new R-23. There are so many more systems than we're used to. When turning on the galley faucet for the first time, the water ran normally for 15 secs or so. It then stopped running and I noticed that the water gauge is no longer working. Nothing happens in either off or on position. Of course this means we now have no running water, including the shower in the boat that I was looking forward to. I checked the fuse labeled F/W switch and it's fine. I checked the wires behind the gauge and they're tight. Any ideas? I would love to have running water.

This happened on my R23 prettty shortly after delivery. It was a fuse, and there was a bit of confusion finding the fuse for the pump
It was in the box that’s located in the head behind the helm station. I think there were some confusing labels
I suggest looking at other fuses near the suspected fuse. It was a pretty easy fix just not obvious on first look

Thanks Ernie. I'll look around at other fuses. Anyone know if it's labeled under a different name?

Well I changed out the 10amp blown fuse and all is good! Thanks Ernie.

Confirmed by Andrew, it actually should be a 15 amp fuse. Which sounds right because I blew the 10 amp fuse again.

Peter,

Be sure to switch out the fuse from a 10amp to a 15amp, we had changed fresh water pumps and went from a 10 to a 15amp fuse. Glad to hear it was an easy fix!!

Thank you,

Kevin Lamont

Thanks Kevin. I did change to a 15 amp fuse and encountered no other problems. 😀

We're just a few hours in on hour new 2018 R23 and indeed the 10A fuse blew on the freshwater pump. Do I understand correctly that I should replace it with a 15A fuse? Why did factory install a 10A fuse in the first place then?

Tootsuite,

We recently switched to the Jabsco pump from the Johnson which requires a larger fuse. This was an oversight on our end in regards to fuse sizing but are addressing it now. I have owned my 2018 for a couple months now and still working fine so I guess it is a case by case basis.

Thank you Andrew. I replaced with the 15A fuse and it seems to be working fine.

Regards.

I seem to have run into the same issue as Salish Seaker and others with my 2018 R23: Sudden loss of fresh water pump to galley sink and a dead fresh water tank gauge. I'm having trouble locating the fuse for this circuit. Is it in one of the two dash fuse blocks above the head, or is it in the aft port side fuse block? Or elsewhere? I have the Jabsco pump, so I suspect the factory 10 amp fuse has blown. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Kevin Lamont,
Where is the Jabsco pump located on the 2018 R-23, for the freshwater?
Thanks,

Hey Tony. I believe the fresh water pump on the R23 is under the galley cabinet. There is a removeable floor in the cabinet. It is under that.
