Does anyone know of fresh water lakes with a suitable launching ramp in the Anacortes area where I could flush my engines after touring the San Juan Islands for two weeks this summer? Thanks for any suggestions - Bill

Bill --- Campbell Lake is the only lake with a decent ramp. It is also the only lake on Fidalgo Island that allows motor driven vessels. Does require a state permit. I have never used that ramp but I assume that day passes would be available there. --- Cary

It's a whole lot simpler when on your trailer to just close your seacock, open the top of your raw water strainer and shove a hose into it. Turn on the hose full blast, start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes and you are good to go. You can even flush your head and run your raw water washdown to clear out the salt in those lines. Be sure to undo your drain plug so the overflow into the bilge doesn't back up. Or am I missing something?

Nope - that's SOP if lakes aren't handy and you are on the trailer anyway!
