I've been chasing loose fittings and leaks for months in order to stop the occasional burp from my freshwater pump. I found that about a quarter of all the clamps on the freshwater hoses were loose and leaky. I tightened everything I thought there was, but still my system ran every hour or two...it was diving me a little crazy.

Tonight I found the problem. The fitting that holds the fresh water hose to the fitting behind the Tecma toilet was loose, and the water was running straight down the hose into the forward bilge where I couldn't see it. Tightened...burp free. No wonder the forward bilge pump came on every few days..clue #2.

FYI for anyone with similar issues.

The hot water hose going to the sink in our galley has popped off 3 times, dumping 40 gallons of freshwater into the cabinets each time. 🙁 I finally realized that a) the factory only put on 1 clamp when their should have been 2. And b) the one clamp they put on was only holding on 1/2 of the hose end. They had added a ton of silicon and the lone clamp was part over hose and part over silicon. I'd turn the pump on and it would hold for a few hours and then off it comes dumping our freshwater tank into the cabin. Of course every time it came off was when we'd step off the boat for a bit. 🙁 There are now 2 clamps on their and it seems to be holding fine.
