Anyone have any best practices on how best to organize your galley fridge for efficiency in cooling? I've often times ended up with ruined romaine lettuce or unintentionally frozen yogurt when it was on the top shelf nearest the cold plate....

Mr. Dave, I have found that any item placed on the top shelf nearest the cold plate should have an alcohol content of 6% or greater to eliminate this problem. Bob

I don’t drink wine, so on the 2017 R29, I use the wine cooler for vegetables, works great! Just like the oven, you need a $5 mechanical thermometer in fridge. The wine cooler has a very whimpy cooling system, so temperature varies a lot on hot days.

Not to hijack this post but the wine cooler in my c28 just did not work well at all. I decided to remove it and when I did discovered that it was placed in a non vented cabinet. I set the wine cooler on the table plugged it in and it worked great cooled down into the high 40s. in the cabinet it would not get below 65. So if you want to use you wine cooler I would vent the cabinet it is in.

ive found that its easiest to just leave the back panel off the wine fridge cubby in the cave. that helps a lot.

I took the advice of someone from another thread and cut a rectangular piece of foam that fits inside the freezer section and covers the back of the freezer which normally is open to the back of the fridge. This makes the freezer a bit colder and prevents ice cold air venting down the back of the fridge where it may "burn" sensitive items. HTH, Gary

Great Idea on the foam! I'm glad someone understood what I was asking on this thread. :-D

Here’s how I installed foam in the rear of my freezer. I also insulated the metal door “flap”.
