Ft. Myers Beach Rendezvous - Feb, 2012

In the real world (non-boating) one would hardly ever experience the togetherness of what we find in the the cruising world. While at the First Annual Sunshine State Rendezvous, in Ft Myers Beach,we saw fellow Ranger Tug owners helping each other, as is often seen in the boating community but hardly ever experienced in the real world. As examples we had fellow owners more then willing to assist when Geppetto was lifted from her trailer and launched into the salt water of Ft Myers Beach for the owners first solo launch. Then there was the willingness of fellow Tug owners to assist with trouble shooting an oil pressure problem, depth sounder malfunction, diagnostic and solution, invertor/charger setting and a hard to reach pencil zinc in other boats, only to mention a few service and or technical situations we were all willing to assist our felllow Ranger Tug owners with. None of these chores were monumental in and of themselves, because of the willingness of fellow boaters to pitch in and help each other, whether they were Ranger Tug owners or not.......but it sure is good to know that we (as Ranger Tug owners) are part of a community that values what is truly important in life......helping one another. We're proud to be part of this great family.

Willie's Tug had a nice day on the water here in Port Isabel. Winds were gusting to 26, but she took it in stride. Valentine's dinner with our local yacht club. Of about a dozen couples, there were two Ranger Tug owners. Not a bad showing for Ranger Tugs here in the Tropical Tip of Texas.

Not trying to hijack your thread. We have been enjoying seeing the Ranger Tugs gathering in Florida and was surprised to find two of us now in the same small club here in the Tropical Tip. Our conversation last night was about the area this group is cruising. You folks are having way too much fun down there.

As those at the Ft. Myers Beach Rendezvous know, my sister Cindy was taking photos. She has provided the link below to a few of those photos. Someone at the rendezvous suggested that we have another larger rendezvous in 2013 in which we ask the Ranger Tugs factory to be involved. Then another suggested that we call it the "Annual Sunshine Ranger Tugs Rendezvous". So, Cindy named these photos the "1st Annual Sunshine Ranger Tug Gathering". The last 3-4 photos, with the moon peeking through the clouds and shimmering on the water near the tugs, are really nice.

By the way, Cindy is a very serious watercolor artist, in addition to her photography. See this link for samples of her work:
