Tweety II is a 2018 R-23 with a Suzuki 200 OB. I have been struggling to get any kind of fuel consumption (and corresponding tank level) accuracy on either of the Suzuki or Garmin. I have re-set and re-calibrated and programmed the Suzuki digital readout to factory spec (147 KW/ HR & 80 gallons) several times. Once with a friend to be sure I was following the directions... Done the same with the Garmin; installed updated software, re-set, re-installed and re-set. No help.

This weekend, while while Idling to flush the motor (at operating temperature) on the trailer, the Garmin says I'm burning 96 gallons per hour. Hooey. I'm frustrated and now using only GPS mileage estimates that I log to track fuel consumption using a very conservative 2 mpg because running out of fuel is a real joy-killer.

Do you have a solution?

Can you recommend a manual float type gauge that can be installed directly on the fuel tank? I'd really like one with a remote readout, but even one I can check by looking at the tank would be better than what I have (which is basically nothing). A standpipe would also work great and would be very welcome at this point. The fat needle on my darn portable outboard tank is far more useful that what I have right now in my 100,000 plus dollar boat.

As an operator, I was trained many years ago to build it right, do the maintenance and trust my indications. Please help to restore some trust in my fuel indications !
