I assume their is a fuel vent hose on the 2008 r25 but it is shown incorrectly in the manual. As of 2010 all fuel tanks had to have a fuel vent hose to prevent well back/splash back when refueling. I think it is on the starboard side near the fresh water vent or thereabout. How do you get at the vent hose since no access to the fuel tank? I think it is too small or clogged since I get serious well back when refueling. I ended up using a long neck funnel and fill slowly. It works well but holding a nozzle for a long period of time gets tiring. Any ideas how to get at it and fix it?

The vent hose size is standard 5/8" . ABYC States minimum size ID of the vent hose is 9/16". There is a spark arrester screen normal found in the vent. This can get plugged and should be cleaned. Some issues that can cause "well back", foaming and spilling are, low spots and kinks in the vent hose, low spots or kinks in the fill hose. Both hoses should have a gradual fall from the deck and hull fittings to the tank. One issue that can not be fixed is the fuel tank design and install. The fuel tank has both fill and vent fittings installed in the aft section of the tank. If the boat is floating stern low. ( most do especially when the fuel fill is in the stern of the boat and requires someone to fill the tank.) When the tank is 3/4 full or more the fuel level is higher at the aft section of the tank. The fwd section of the tank forms an air pocket as you fill because the vent is next to the fill and not located in the fwd section of the tank. This causes the fuel to burp out the fill and vent. Filling slowly will help. Using a Clean Way fuel kit helps reduce spills.

Here are a few of many threads discussing a similar issue that you are asking about.
