I asked for a picture from a Tugnut who had a full camperback made, I believe it was Olygirl. I tried posting the pic from my phone but it didn't work so look at the photo in my album.

Thanks Jim. That's what I'm looking for, clear windows with screens. I don't plan on running around naked in the cockpit on rainy days, but do want to stay dry and have the extra room for them kinda days.
I'm thinking of having the main roof to fold up like a bimini when we want the sun. What do you think?

Did you ever close up the back and run the AC, did it cool the cockpit as well as the cabin? Just asking for a friend...

I don't have screens on mine. The sides unzip and come off in less than 3 minutes. They can also just be rolled up and clipped up. If the sides are removed, the framework/top will fold and get totally out of the way in about 5 minutes.SgtAlf":pdbu2apf said:

Yes I was asking you about the AC. My cabin has been so cold I could hang meat. I'm thinking if I run the AC to that point, then open the door, it'd cool the cockpit enclosure, maybe.

I had a full canvas enclosure made for our C30 when she was brand new. Took it off after the first season and haven’t had it back up since. Why? Among other things, it was a pain in the tushy to get on and off the boat with the enclosure - it also made cleating dock lines difficult. We now use the Bimini top portion only for some shade. Another negative for me was, with the full enclosure up, there was nowhere to go on the boat for fresh air and an unobstructed view of the water while underway or on the hook. the salon windows are just not enough. Yes, the sides could be unzipped and rolled up, but I found that to be a pita as well. Lastly, every time I got on the boat in the summertime, it was hot enough to bake pizza in the cockpit - the a/c didn’t cool it off much either because of all the sun shining through the isinglass sides. It’s a boat, not a house. Just my opinion.

I had an Albin with a full enclosure, yes there are trade offs. I have no intention of running all buttoned up all the time. On the hook at night, I'll close up the screens. Same night and it's raining, I'll zip up the windows on the windward side. If for some chance I'm buttoned up and about to dock, all of us can access the bow via the V berth hatchs, and the stern from the swim step. I don't see it as that big a deal.
Went to the boat today, it was 97 in the cabin, opened the windows and door for a while and it dropped to 88, turned on the AC and it dropped to 70 in an hour. (70 is what I have it set at) If I run the AC down to 65, I'm sure some cool air will spill into the cockpit. I look at it as more space if there's some weather, or bugs, to deal with.
I access my boat via a floating finger pier to the swim step in the cockpit door. The enclosure would only require unzipping the extra door.
