Hi guys: may seem like a fairly simple/crazy question, but can anyone out there advise me about the four in-line fuses located on top of, and connected to, the two batteries in my R21? From recent experience with my auto bilge pump, I now know that the stbd outboard one (15 Amp) links the auto bilge pump to the batteries so that it activates even when the main breaker switch is in the 'OFF' position. All good there. Then there is a 3 Amp fuse (port outboard) which is linked between the battery and the Charging Relay panel. Just not too sure about the remaining two 30 Amp fuses. Any ideas, please? Kind regards, Stevan.

I've found the purpose of many fuses in various boats by simply pulling them out one at a time and seeing what isn't working. That technique has worked every time--IF you don't have someone who can simply tell you. 30 amp sounds pretty potent and could possibly be your thruster??? Nothing else on these smaller boats should need a 30 amp. Do you have an anchor winch?

Now don't be kidnapping the name of a clearly superior boat to your R-21EC, the R21 classic. The EC as we all know stands for Extra Charge.

This does depend on the year of the boat as some things have changed. Bilge fuses have changed to 5 amp. Stereo memory is usually a 15 amp and Battery Charger leads are 20-30 amp. You should be able to trace the charger ones pretty easy because they are close by. Cannot think of any others. You are welcome to send me a photo of the batteries showing the fuses and I can try to help identify them.

Thank you,

Thanks everybody, for your helpful (and humorous) suggestions. I will investigate further. Also, I will email Andrew Custis with some photos and descriptions (stand by Andrew). Kind regards to all. Stevan
