My cockpit and bridge speakers are not working. All of the zones are are activated. The main radio is in the forward birth and the relay is in the main cabin. I tried to reset the radio and ended up losing my gps for awhile till I figured out how turn that back on through the radio.

The only suspicious activity was that I noticed this problem after we were in heavy seas for awhile. Might not be related.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Bobby

Bobby,

The cockpit and bridge speakers are likely both run through a separate amp while the salon and forward berth speakers operate through an amp built into the main head unit. Check your fuses first, there’s a separate fuse for the amp. My guess, however, is that a connection has come loose between the head unit and the external amp. Not sure how you access the back of the head unit on your R31 but you will likely find a tangle of wires there and one of the RCA connectors to be loose. Good luck.

Bingo! It was the fuse. Did not know about the secondary amp. Do you have any idea where that amp is located?

Another question. There are 4 zones for the speakers and four locations - cabin, salon, aft cockpit and bridge. However. zone 3 controls both the aft cockpit AND bridge. Is there a way to separate these? I know how to control each volume between the zones, but zone 3 definitely powers both those areas. Zone 4 does nothing.

BTW, thanks for your help. It was spot on.

Best,
Bobby

The amp is usually located within a foot or two of the head unit, at least it is on my C30. See if can gain access to the back of the head unit, either by pulling the unit out or looking for some sort of access hatch or panel removal.

The zones can be operated independently. There is a setting in the menu that links and/or unlinks the zones.
