I have a 2015 R31-CB (luxury edition). The screen on the Fusion Radio in the stateroom is frozen "on". Fusion suggested I disconnect the power for 4-5 days to hopefully reset the system. Problem is, to reach behind the unit I cannot get access to the rear cable due to the lack of excess cable (unit will not pull out far enough to reach the proper cable to disconnect power). I have not been able to access from behind the wall either. Pulling the fuse does not work either. Any suggestions please? Thanks in advance.

Remove the 2-3 A fuses for radio and amp on block behind helm.

You can access the back of the radio if you remove the heating/AC vent and fan on the shelf in front of the co-pilot’s seat.

The back of my radio is behind the helm seat, not the co pilot.

Hello,

Some R31's come with an extra cabinet under the TV, I assume you do not have this since you would be able to access the back side easily. In order to get behind or access the wires you want to remove the white "rat fur" panels inside the large cabinet in the vberth. They are secured with screws and L brackets so it is straight forward on removing them, once out you will have some room to get in behind and unplug or release the slack so you can then pull the head unit out.

If you are interested in the extra cabinet you can email Tim O'Neil at parts@rangertugs.com. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

I second this approach as it has the same impact as unplugging without disassembling anything.

Our 2015 Fusion Radio, Model 750, failed earlier this year with similar behavior - it would not turn off or respond to any other commands. Complete resets and disconnecting power failed to fix it. My dealer indicated that this was not an uncommon issue with that model run. The good news is that if you purchase the updated version, Model 755, it is a plug and play replacement. No wiring or hole resizing necessary. I think it took me less than 10 minutes to replace it in our R25SC.
