Subject: FYI... Webasto heating performance with ambient at 44ºF

Was on my boat to today (new 2018 R-27/OB model) that has the diesel powered Webasto forced air furnace installed.

The outside temp was at 44ºF and a 10 to 15 kt wind.

The cabin and the V-berth areas were at 45ºF when I turned on the Webasto.

After 60 mins the cabin area at the dinette table was at 70ºF and the V-berth area at the raised table's surface was 65ºF.

During this 60 mins the Webasto fuel pump pulse was ongoing and the wind tunnel noise of the outside exhaust port was ongoing.

When I turned off the Webasto it took around 3 to 5 mins to cool down and for the air vent to cease blowing warm air.

After the 60 mins the Webasto control unit in the Cave area displayed 54ºF. Thus the temperature gradient from the cabin floor to the dinette table surface was some 16ºF.

The warmest spot was in the foot well at the helm where there's a heat vent and has the highest air temp.
