Subject: FYI.... Weep holes in the new R-27/OB

The weep holes/channels that are in our boats are important as they are for directing errant water into the bilge so it can be pumped overboard. Blocked weep holes can present us with a serious wet condition.

On my late R-25 (Classic) the weep holes were not much larger than 1/4" (if that) and could easily get blocked and usually will be blocked quickly in a new boat from assembly residues left in the boat. I cannot count the number of times I had to use a straightened cloth hanger wire to clear the weep holes when owning the R-25 while laying on my belly at times. 😉

Now on my new R-27/OB I find the weep holes are close to being 1" in diameter (at least large enough to fit my index finger into) and hopefully will not be subject to blockage as happened on my R-25.
