Garmin 1242XSV Fuel Economy MPG

My Garmin stopped displaying the instant MPG although it shows it on the 6YC display. This happened halfway through a seven day trip in July. I have worked with all the parties and nobody seems to know why that one piece of information is not being transmitted back to the 1242.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so, been able to resolve it? We tried the J1939 cable and that did not correct the issue.

Are you getting fuel remaining accurately? Have you checked your connections? I am hooked up using the J connection not NMEA 2000. I found that I need to turn on the unit before turning on the engine gives accurate information, If I do not do it that way the info is innacurate.

I am getting fuel remaining correctly. Did try the J cable, a Garmin representative tried to get it to work, and it was unsuccessful. Data logs are showing information does not appear to be coming from the 6YC. I have unplugged and reconnected the cable from the 6YC into the bus and even tried a different bus port. I have not tried to purchase new cables and replace them at this point.
