Garmin 5212 Configurations

Two questions on Garmin 5212 Combination settings.
1. Is there a way to lock the setups? I'm being haunted by previous owner's settings coming back after I've customized them to my preferences. It's pretty tedious to set them all up again.
2. Is there a way to copy the 8 side-bar numeric on-screen displays (GPS Speed, GPH, Heading, etc) from one of the custom combination screens to another? I'd prefer to have a few common settings among the many Combinations.

Most of the screens can be customized, but some can't. When you change your preferences etc. they should automatically be saved. I don't understand why the old ones would reappear.

Perhaps call Garmin tech support. I'm sure their is a simple explanation on why your settings aren't saving. They have been helpful when I called.

If that doesn't work, I suggest saving your user data to a SD card (check for compatible SD cards) and I believe I lost my settings during long power offs (house battery off).

I agree. I called Garmin tech support and they were super helpful!

You can do a up- clean reinstall maps then your own will be their only.. But save his old on a thumdrive for backup it or what ever you like.
