I started a thread a while concerning the compatibility of the 5212 with the newer radars. I just installed the GMR 18 xHD and it was plug and play. All of the features work on the 5212 including dual range. The last software update on my 5212 was installed in 2015. The dome is taller and larger diameter but it fit on the mast of my C26. The only problem I had was the cables were about 4 inches short. I had to open up the ceiling, starboard side of cabin and panels in the cave to find extra cable. Luckily there was about a foot coiled up tied to the main harness. The xHD is a significant improvement over the original HD that came with boat in 2013.
