Good Afternoon All,
We recently said good by to our R25sc "Tuggerknot" and welcomed our 2014 R31CB "Brown Eyed Girl". Quite a bit of difference between the two boats, so I like ask a couple of questions of the group.

When updating the charts on the Garmin 7215 and 7212 (bridge unit) do you update both or is the bridge unit a mirror of the main?

I believe that I have the issue with the auto pilot pump that the boat requires constant correction to the starboard as it will drift off to the port direction. So the question is there a problem with just isolating the pump for a extended period of time until I can get it fixed? And has anyone bled the system them selves and how hard is it?

And one last one, how do I tell if I have AIS. Will that show up on the Garmin screen as an option if equipped?

Thanks in advance,

Scottymac

Hi, that’s a great boat!

Regarding AIS, I have the 7215 system and AIS - broadcasting boats show up as little triangles (if there are any around). To verify, open the system information screen. You should be able to find AIS as one of the system components.

Congratulations on your new boat!

When updating the software you'll only need to update for the main helm plotter. You will however need to make sure that all of your Garmin devices are turned on, both on the bridge and main helm. Then you can install your SD card and update your software.

There's no problem with isolating the pump. You just won't have the ability to use the pilot until it's fixed.

Thanks,
-Kenny

Thanks for the info, look forward to exploring on our new tug!

Kenny,

I have the same setup. When I install a new route from an SD card, created at home (Garmin Home Port) to the helm plotter, it doesn't show up on the bridge station. I must manually take it up and install it. Is it possible to have all my routes, etc. stored in one location? I believe if I merge routes, it renames them.
