The nm recorded by my Garmin 7215 is not accurate. Today I cruised 14 nm but on my Garmin only recorded that I travelled 2 nm. Has anyone had this problem and does anyone have a recommendation on how I correct this problem. Thanks

First, I have not experienced or heard of this issue.

If it happened to me on my same vintage of Garmin, I would change settings from nautical miles to statute miles, run a bit to see if it is operating correctly and then toggle back to nautical miles. If that did not work, I would reset unit back to the factory default settings (there is an option for that), power down and restart without any additional map chips in the unit. Yes, you will lose the data accumulated and start again at zero but perhaps the trade-off is worth it.

I accept that the 7200 series is no longer supported by Garmin with any updates.

Not sure what “recorded data” you are looking at. On our 7215 if you recalculate or restart the route along the way it will start over from your new position.
