I have a issues with sync between my iPad and Garmin.
Purchased the G3 charts, have successfully load them from active captain to the Garmin.
I found out the mapping doesn’t do auto guidance On the iPad. I have done some auto guidance on the Garmin 7612, I learned to plot a coarse on the iPad, I have successfully load from iPad to routes on the 7612 from the iPad. Challenge is when I sync, the routes I built on the 7612, don’t sink back to my iPad. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you ahead of time, am loving this on my new cut water 28, the webinars over the past few weeks have been awesome, keep sharing

I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I too do most of my routes on my iPad either using the Active Captain app or auto routing using the Navionics app. Routes made on the iPad using Active Captain app load on the 7612 each time Garmin WIFI link Active Captain on the 7612 and the iPad. It will show what ever is downloading Software updates, One Chart, Active Captain updates and USER DATA SYNC.

User data sync should sync all the data that is on the 7612 to your iPad and iPad to 7612. I actually had to do this 7612 to iPad. My Active Captain app on my iPad quick working. I called Garmin to help me figure out the issue. The fix was to delete the app from the iPad and reinstall which I would loose all my data that was loaded in the iPad app. The Garmin rep said I should be able to retrieve any data from the 7612 if it was previously downloaded on the 7612. I reinstalled the app on the iPad and the next time I was on board I synced the data using Active Captain. Routes and way points that were on the 7612 were now on the iPad.

One issue I have found is the One Chart. If I have to many Chart blocks of the G3 opened on the iPad it will have difficulty downloading all that information to the 7612. It could use all the space of the SD card and stall. I spoke with Garmin about this. He advised only open the portion of the chart needed for plotting routes when using the iPad. Don't have to many blocks open at one time. I never had this issue with the original G2 chart. The technician said there is a lot more information on the G3 compared to G2. After learning this I deleted many of the blocks and only left the area that I was currently boating in open. Thisreduced the amount of memory space used on the SD card. It also decreased the time needed to sync data and update active captain information.

Thanks for the assist, I deleted my app and reloaded app, still only the routes planned on boat with auto guidance on the Garmin don’t go back to my iPad..
