Garmin and Yanmar Connecting Cable

Last fall I was having trouble with both the Garmin and Yanmar instruments. When they got them both working they separated the two backbones. On this forum I got a sketch showing how the two should be connected with a NEMA 2k backbone cable with the power lead disconnected. Does the factory have any of these cables?

Right now the Yanmar backbone is just a "Yanmar "T" with the engine cable ant the Yanmar instrument connected. The Garmin backbone is terminated on both ends.

Instead of taking an N2K wire and cutting power out of it, you can order a NMEA 2000 power isolator and install that between the Yanmar and Garmin backbone. You should be able to get these at most electronic stores.

Andrew, That's a lot simpler. Power isolator already ordered.
