Garmin GPS

I have learned to use my Garmin GPS on my R-21. I purchased a DVD from West Marine and I learned the basics. But I have a lot to learn to get the most out if it. This may seem like a very dumb question. But, how do you practice with the GPS when it is put up for the winter. The boat and the GPS are not moving. Does simulation mode help at all. How do you figure all this out. Are there any online classes? Suggestions would be appreciated.

I don't have that particular Garmin but that is what the simuator is for. Use the simulator and the instruction book on the hard and keep your quick reference close by when on the water. You might also check on line for tutorials.
