My Garmin reads 12.7 volts. Yet all my banks are at 13.4, on shore. Last time out the Garmin did trigger a low voltage altert. Sounds like a loose a cable somewhere?

Advice from one of the electrical seminars I posted within the last week:

1) Yes, it could be the connections.

2) Failing that, the installation could have been done to pull power for too many devices on the same circuit. Shut EVERYTHING down, except the Garmin. Especially all related electronics. Or, disconnect everything else from power. Test the voltage at Garmin again, when you KNOW its not sharing power. If its high / normal, then that's the issue.

Another similar clue: test voltage as it leaves the breaker, and again right at the unit. If there is a big difference, then the answer is somewhere along the circuit.

Its a process of elimination.

Yes, loose connections at the fuses behind head mirror, one ground strap and one positive strap, that we’re about to fall off.
Up to 13.2v .... much better!

It’s a boat things come loose.
