I have a 2014 R27 with the Volvo D3. The Garmin chart plotter shows much higher engine oil temps than the Volvo Penta Engine display. Which is correct? I don’t get a high oil temp alarm but is that because the Volvo display shows lower temps and that’s what it uses to alarm? In other words am I not getting an alarm but I should, or is the Garmin oil temp display wrong. If so, how do I resolve this? The data:
Start at 3100 RPM until temps stabilize - Garmin shows 201F while Volvo shows 180F
Increase to WOT at 3650 RPM for 4 minutes - Garmin shows 216F while Volvo shows 189F
Decrease to 3050 RPM and let it stabilize -Garmin shows 202 F while Volvo shows 178F
