We have a 2021 R29S LE. The boat currently is stored indoors waiting for our next trip. I turn off the house battery switch when I leave it after cleaning or working on it because there is no reason to keep things powered up. The next time I go to the boat I turn on the house batteries to get inside lights etc. For some reason turning on the house battery switch turns on our two Garmin MFD screens and the autopilot. They heat up a fair amount and with the covers on we have no idea they are up and running. Why is this and is there a way to prevent it and require us to hit the power buttons on them to turn them on?

My 2021 R23 does the same.

Try adjusting this setting.

Select Settings > System > Auto Power Up.

Hello,

The above comment is correct, it is a setting preference. Happy boating!!

Thanks,

Thanks to both of you for the simple solution. (I have been off camping with Scouts and just got back to the computer.)

Super helpful question and answer. I had battery work done a couple of weeks ago and I was surprised to find the Garmin MFD on when I got back to the boat. It makes sense that the house power had been turned off and on due to the service. Now I know why!
