Wondering if anyone can help as I have come up empty in all my searching. When creating routes on the Navionic app, then exporting the GPX file to ActiveCaptain, then syncing to my 7612 chart plotter for navigation, the waypoints have large symbols that often completely block chart details, making it dangerous to
use. Does anyone know how to hide waypoints when doing this?

I don't know the answer. I typically make my routes in Active Captain and wirelessly transfer it to my 7612, and I do not have that issue. A slightly different process than you

My only suggestion to you - and I assume you have tried it - is that it is possible to change what the way points look like in the 7612. Have you tried to modify those setting? Or possibly modifying the same setting adjustments in Active Captain or Navionics?

Good luck!

Rocky

For some reason my 7612 has stopped accepting wireless transfers (it used to) so that didn’t work last trip. I’ll try an update and see if that resolves it.

There is an upgrade for the 7612 that allows you to use Auto Guidance directly on the plotter to create your routes. If you a not familiar with Auto Guidance, check it out. It makes planning trips quick and easy.

Interesting. I exported a route made in navionics to my Garmin and the same thing happened. Waypoints with a long label. Hopefully there is an answer to this issue otherwise I’ll be doing something different for pre planning.

I had the same issue with mine...when I had it...and when you are doing canals and such with waypoints every 200 feet it got to be really bad. I just happened to be on the phone with Garmin, for a different issue, and asked him about it.

1. From a chart, select Menu > Layers
2. User Data
Shows and hides user data, such as waypoints, boundaries, and tracks, and opens user data lists (User Data Layer Settings).

You can toggle them off there. Much better!

Thanks Chris! I’ll give that a try next time I’m at the boat.
