Generator Removal

Is it possible???

I need to do some rather extensive work....lots of rust in the unit and ....its dead as a door nail. I've narrowed the issue down to a 10 amp start control fuse but it is absolutely impossible to access while the unit is on-board.

Has anyone else successfully removed theirs without removing the D4 300? If so, I would love to hear the process.
