Getting my Garmin 7616xsv chartplotter WiFi network to be recognized by my iPhone

Used 2016 R-31S. Previous owner set up the chartplotter WiFi network but I cannot recognize it with my iPhone. I would like to be able to get software updates thru the Garmin Active Captain app. Any suggestions out there? Thanks.

I'd recommend resetting the wifi password, then connecting your phone to it.
The other problem you'll run into is that if the previous owner used Active captain to update the chart plotter, that would tie your chart plotter to the previous owner's email address. Thus, you'll be able to use the chart plotter, but active captain won't sync. You'll need to factory reset the chart plotter, delete all the data on it, and re-register it using your own email address. Then active captain can sync on your phone.
