I received and email from my insurance company thanking me for being a good customer (that was nice). 😉 Then they reminded me to read my Hurricane Preparedness Plan I submitted to them. LOL I'm as set as I'm ever going to be.

Good luck everyone.

You should get a really hard fresh water wash down. However my friends in Port Aransas appear to be catching the brunt of the winds. I wish them safety for their boats. Lines checked by tonight and go inland for personal safety. As we are enjoying the heat wave in Tacoma for the next few days.

Almost 200 miles south of where the eye will make landfall, and the predictions are for 90 to 100 mph winds where your former house is, Herb. It isn't going to be pretty.

Wow Jim, Sounds like it will be worse than the last one in 2008. Are you down there now? I think I have you spotted on the East Coast.

Hi Herb,

We are in Nashville, TN, currently... just RVing our way generally back to Texas. This morning, the weather weasels lowered the wind predictions for Port Isabel/South Padre Island, with winds into the 60s, over 50 mph for about a 12 hour duration. Storm surge will come in on a lowering tide. We are breathing a bit easier this morning; the next 12 to 24 hours will be telling. Looks like the center of the storm has become more defined and will likely make landfall as a Cat 3. Not good for those around Corpus and NE.

Hoping for safety for all those in the path.

Well, Harvey was rough. Worse than Allison. Garage flooded (water heater won't heat). Moved all my vehicles, toys, and tools to the street or into the house. Then the R27 was going to start to float off the trailer. Hooked her up to the truck and pulled it up to the street, also. It's now the most photographed R27 in history. LOL It's probably already on the internet. House did NOT flood (came close though). Next door neighbor's did - and everyone downhill from there. Amazingly, the garage is already dry, after shoveling the mud, washing and sweeping it all out today. We got onto the dry side of the hurricane (as it moved towards Louisiana) and the rain just stopped. Hope everyone fared at least as well as we did. Good luck, y'all.
