Blew out a trailer tire yesterday; date code was from 2013 so it was time to be replaced anyway regardless of tread remaining.

Tire shop near me said they dont have Marathons anymore, and recommended a Goodyear Endurance tire of same size/load range.

Found this interesting article saying they have sturdier sidewalls and are made in U.S. now:

I won't jump out and replace all at once but I do have a couple of tires that are 3 years old & might just replace those.
 
Interesting article. I put four new Maxis tires on my rig before heading west and back. So far about 8,500 miles and so far no issues. Next time around I may try the Endurance.
 
I have Maxxis tires on two tandem axle trailers. Very happy with them. If the Goodyear Endurance tires are indeed U.S. built, I will give them a try when it comes time for tires on my Tug trailer.
 
I just bought 4 Goodyear Endurance tires, 225/75/15, load range E. They have a speed rating of N (87mph). They are new to the market this year and the reviews that are available were all positive. One reviewer had 10,000 miles on them without any issues.
I got 4 that were still warm, manufactured 34th week of this year. The tires are embossed "Made In U.S.A." Time will tell but I'm putting my faith in a USA product compared to the crap that comes out of China.
 
1st day out on 6 week trip to NW we had a belt come apart on our triple axle EZ Loader. I had checked the temp on all tires and bearings 30 min before and all was fine. I checked the air the day before to confirm 80 lbs. I lost all confidence in the Chinese tires. We search the web that night and my wife found the USA made Goodyear Endurance. The next morning, We had a Goodyear store replace 6 tires on the ground and 2 spares with Goodyear Endurance tires. The new tires were 3 weeks old. So far about 6,000. miles and no problems. The piece of mind was worth the cost.

Thanks for posting your experience with these tires. You may be the first one on this site with some real world experience using them, keep us updated. I plan on going from RI to FL on them in Jan., about 2,800 miles round trip.
 
Update. I returned to RI from Fl with my new Goodyear Endurance tires on the trailer. I towed the trailer approximately 3,200 miles and did not have any issues, I really like how they ride. This is the first round trip to FL that I did not have any problems with tires. My previous two trips running Carlisle tires (made in China) were problematic.
So for now two thumbs up for the Goodyear Endurance.
 
I also have purchased the goodyear endurance tires. Have about 2300 miles on them. Very happy with them so far.
 
I am still happy with the Goodyear Endurance tires I bought in early June. A little over 8,000 miles so far. I had a flat on the way to FL in Dec, but the problem was a a piece of steel had impaled one of the tires. Probably a piece of Chinesium steel?
 
Between the 3 of us on this post we have a total of 15,500 miles with no complaints, that's pretty damn good.
 
For anyone thinking about new tires for their trailer, we now have over 13,000. miles on our Goodyear Endurance tires. My next set will be Goodyear as well.
 
I just purchased 6 GoodYear Endurance tires replacing 4 year old 4000 mile tires made in China ( original tires ) The tires looked good but I thought it was time. I told the technician to save 2 of the best tires of the 6. I would save them for usable spares. He gave each of them a good inspection after removing them from the rim. He told me there was only one that he would use. The endurance are US made, expensive, and have very good reviews. I hope I get the same service life as the rest of you.
 
I guess the real question is; will the endurance tires last longer and how much longer? I purchased Maxxis Tires in 2016 and have driven about 10,000 miles on them with no issues. They cost about the same as the endurance and are supposedly the only outside USA brand made to USA specs. The pricing is about the same as the Endurance. I have made it my rule to change the tires after 3 years or the first blowout, whichever comes first. Another tugger has also purchased Maxxis and we are comparing performance.

If your on the 3 year plan and purchased a quality tire you should be in good shape. I asked the dealer about life expectancy of the Endurance. His comment's were , they haven't been out long enough to say, the Endurance is an improved tire to the Marathon Goodyear trailer tire,(Marathon predecessor of the Endurance). He also said in his opinion Endurance is the best trailer tire manufactured but the most expensive. Most people elect not to purchase them because of the price and he mostly sells China made trailer tires. He would not say I could get 5 or 6 years life expectancy but he did say If I took care of the tires, air pressure, keep them out of the sun, and most importantly use them ( a trailer tire that sits in one place with a load on it for extended time can damage the tire, this is what causes cheaper China tires to come apart prematurely ) the Endurance would out last the cheaper tire. I also asked him to balance my tires, he smiled saying no one ever asked to have their trailer tires balanced, but it is a good practice. After having a few bad experiences with Carlisle China made tires I thought about Goodyear tires but the price!!! Then a trip to Lake of the Ozark ( two blow outs same trip ,damaged my trailer, 2 seasons of use tires towing a 26' Searay Sundancer ) I switched to Marathon Goodyear and have never had another blow out since 2004. I've used a 4 year plan. One blow out with a less expensive tire cost more to me then paying more up front for a good quality tire. Just my opinion.
