Due in November HomePort looks like a smart, affordable ($30) application for planning and storing trip routes on your home computer, and transferring them to your chart plotter. That's the good news. The bad news, for Mac users, is it's only available for Windows. 🙁

Garmin's overview is here.
A brief preview by Panbo Marine Electronics Blog is here.

Come on, Garmin, a $7B corporation should be delivering cross-platform solutions across the entire product line :!:

Thanks or the 'heads up' on this Bruce.

Garmin has this availble for purchase & download now on their website.

Thanks Bruce. As an Apple Mac user I hear your call. I guess one could always use Parallels, VMware Fusion or even Boot Camp to run Windows.

If anyone does have a Mac and employs any of the above maybe they can give some feedback on how well this new Garmin software product works.

I have Parallels so maybe I'll give it a shot.

It's about time software vendors start making their software products hardware agnostic.

Love to hear what you think about it. I continue to lobby Garmin for Mac support.

It is at least compatible with the Garmin 5012 thank goodness. 😀

Since my Parallels 4.0 has been sitting on the shelf for a while now as I've been too busy to install it, I now have motivation to get it off the shelf. Hmmmm - will need to find a cheapo Windows 7 version (if there's such a thing). 😉
