I put the boat in the water on Lake Erie for the summer this morning. When I turned on my Garmin GPSMap 5212 for the first time I had no GPS. Going through several screens I clicked on a screen that said NMEA 2000 devices and it said "None Found". It was working fine at the end of last year.
Anyone else have this problem?

Check connections behind the Screen.
Even if secure unscrew a bit a retighten them.
Try a complete power cycle for the electronics.

If I understand your post correctly you can power up the 5212 and, it sounds, like the master screen is showing. If this is the case, I would first try doing a master reset from the configure screen. From there I think you go to "system. Is your unit running the latest software version? If not, suggest down loading update to a SD card and boot Garmin using current software. I do not think the 5212 is still supported for software updates but you can still download latest from Garmin website. Even if your unit is up to date you might try to reboot from a SD card with latest software configuration. With electronics one never knows!

This is pretty basic but make sure the NMEA 2000 12V circuit breaker is On to power up the bus.
Is the Garmin VHF radio alarming due to no GPS data? It displays GPS position on the LCD display.
Is the Yanmar display showing engine data when the key is on? This is also on the NMEA 2000 bus but the display is powered by the engine side of the bus, not by the circuit breaker (Ranger cuts the power lead in the NMEA 2000 bus so the engine side and everything else is powered separately)
If you have the Autopilot is this functioning?
If everything else on the NMEA 2000 bus is working then the drop cable and connections from the backbone to the 5212 are suspect.

The Yanmar engine display can also show NMEA bus devices and bus data activity/errors but this takes a few key presses that I do not remember off the top of my head.

I just went through a similar Problem with my Garmin a month ago. My autopilot would not turn on, the Volvo engine information was not reading on the 7612, I could not control the Fusion radio thru 7612, N2K was not working. I had no power going to the back bone. I called Garmin ,they said you have to find were you are getting your power to the back bone. I spoke with Andrew, he told me that the Fusion 750 radio powers up the back bone in some models. I hit the reset on the Fusion which is hold the power button for 10 seconds. The radio reset, then I went into setting and turned the NRX on. This powers the N2K Backbone. Everything worked. After this happened I decided to run a separate yellow Garmin power supply cable to power the back bone and turned the NRX off.
