GPSMap5212 Radar disappeared over the winter

My Radar has disappeared from my screen ans this is what the technician said:
"Tried a different NMEA cable direct to screen. Tested power supply to dome ok. Updated software to latest version. Called Garmin they said if all this was done and still no go then the problem must be in the radar itself.

Jamie I've spent numerous hours on this and had Mike Drinnan in to help download programs to upgrade software, and provide new NMEA cable. Google is a wonderful thing but I'm pretty sure I've covered all the bases.

Any thoughts as to how to get my radar working?

Jamie,
I see you are new to TugNuts, so I will jump in with my two cents.
Go to the search option on the main menu page and search for Garmin 5212 Radar.
I did, and there are a lot of post about connection problems for you to read. It appears that storing with the mast down and the radar uncovered can allow water enter the radar dome and corrosion sets in past the O-ring. This is an easy fix.
You can also find contact info to the Ranger Factory and Garmin if the problem persists.
You can send the dome to Garmin for repair, but be aware of bench testing charges, etc.
