Registration time……for those that are on the “ keep me informed” list (38 boats) for the July 30, 31 and August 1 Great Lakes Rendezvous I’ve emailed you all with the official registration form and tentative agenda. If you’re reading this then you should go to your emails, check regular and or junk mail to find the form that needs to be filled out and returned to me at your first opportunity. IMPORTANT: Great Lakes Area Ranger Tugs/Cutwater Boats official registration update. As of Monday, May 2nd. we have 23 couples officially registered for the Little Current North Channel Canada Rendezvous for July 30, 31 and August 1st. I've listed everyone who is registered and paid or that have confirmed their mailing. If your name is not on this list and you'd like it to be please see the attached registration form that needs to be returned to me, or let me know that it is already in the mail to me. I’m Capt. Norm Schroeder and my 1st Mate WEndy and I wile attending the Greatl Lake Summer Rendezvous at Little Current. WE will be cruising before it in the Georgian Bay. Our home port isMenominee, MI. We live in De Pere, WI.
We have a 2023 Ranger Tug 31S LE. Now learning the ropes on a new boat!. Should be well acquainted with our new craft Valhalla. Looking forward to meeting fellow tugnuts and learning more about cruising with Ranger Tugs. See you all in Little Current!

CUSTOMS: Just a heads up for those attending the Great Lakes Rendezvous in late July, if you’re coming into Canada from the US. Don’t forget your passports. If you have children with you you’ll need a copy of their birth certificate and or a letter of permission from their parents, if you’re bringing grandkids. Lastly you’ll want to be familiar with what you can or can not bring into Canada. There is a thread on Tugnuts titled “Canadian Food restrictions “ you may want to search to see what has recently been discussed.

Is a nexus card sufficient for Canadian entry in lieu of passports?
 
We’ve not had a Nexus card and therefore have no knowledge. Hoping someone else will chime in on this.

Nexus work smoothly in both directions. Every one aboard needs a card. The card makes you a "trusted traveller" so you want to make sure you don't do anything to to cause Canada Border Services Agency and U.S. Customs and Border Protection lose trust (i.e. inaccurate declarations, reporting violations).

I can take a while to get your first card - background checks and in person interviews by both CBSA and USCBP are required. Based on your location scheduling the interviews can be a challenge.

Hi to all that will be attending the Rendezvous this summer. We will not be attending the event because we no longer have a Cutwater. We will be cruising in the Georgian Bay/ North Channel, July and August. Hopefully we will meet up with some of you attending the TugNut rendezvous in one of the many beautiful anchorages. If you see us give PORT-A-GEE a hail, white 34, Mainship Pilot. I will do the same if I see a Tug or Cut out on the water. Enjoy the event you will not want to leave the area!
