We have a 2017 R25SC with separate KISAE Abso 1220 charger and true sinewave 2000 W inverter installed from the factory. Both have performed flawlessly since new. I've always felt it comforting that the units were separated since the charger is used continuously as the boat is kept in the water year round and plugged in.
Last week I noticed, purely by chance, that Err was showing in the display screen of the charger. I checked the manual but this was not one of the standard error codes. I called our local dealer but it was not a code with which they were familiar. I then contacted KISAE by email on their website and received a response almost immediately. They explained that this was a failure of the board in the charger. The unit would continue to operate in the mode for which it was last set, which I have been using now for years. That was comforting. The unit could not be repaired. After I had sent them some photos of the serial number and production date [2014] to confirm that the unit was no longer in warranty they offered me a replacement new unit at a good discount which I happily accepted.
We often complain about manufacturers and their response and I just wanted to give a shout out to KISAE and their support team for fabulous service.
