Just recently when I'm on shore power and turn on the battery charger I get a faint rev polarity light AND a faint inverter light. When I test the ground fault sensor I get a ground fault test fail. What could be causing a ground fault?

I have had the reverse polarity light when using a long extension cord. Using a long household 15amp cord can definitely cause the light to come on. Even adding an additional 30amp shore power extension can cause it as well. The reverse polarity light circuit is not very sophisticated.

What boat? Single 30, dual 30, single 50?
When you say you test the Ground Fault do you mean the ELCI?
Do you have a basic plug tester? If so check the boat receptacle and see if they show reverse polarity.

It may be something to do with they shore power grounded neutral and the neutral from the inverter during the switching process.
