Does anyone out here have any proven ideas for protecting the gunwale when pulling crab or prawn pots? We use commercial style pots on our previous boat that had a davit and were able to swing them over and set on the rail. It was an older boat and I wasn't maybe wasn't as careful as "The Admiral" demands we be with our new Ranger 23.
I know an Ace pot puller with extension will allow the pot to be higher than the "regular Scotty pit puller".
I know there are other ways to get there from here, smaller pots, install a davit, et. What I am looking for is a simple set up that can be easily taken down when not in use that can protect the gunwale from banging pots.
Thanks in Advance! 🙂
