:?: any suggestions on solving this very slippery area? door stairstep has snadpaper strips but that wouldn t look very good.p.s. really an issue with wet floor and bare feet..yeeha

Inexpensive indoor/outdoor carpeting (don't get the rubber backed kind) will work. If it moves around, get some good quality double sided tape and put a few tabs downl

West Marine sells something called: DRI-DEK...
These are 12" X 12" thin open grid tiles that are a non skid surface and that hopefully could fit or be cut to fit in the area that you are considering. I have not looked at these personally, other than on their website, but taking a long shot they may be your answer.

I used Dri-Deck in the cockpit of my CD22 Cruiser. Works OK but it's rough on bare feet which underway was our choice of footgear. It's also expensive at about $5 a square foot. Much more expensive than any indoor/outdoor you might find. I got rid of it eventually and did the carpeting in the cockpit.

We routinely use a combination of indoor-outdoor carpet with a non-skid product as a layer between the carpet and the floor. For example, on top of the step, just inside the cabin door, we use this to product the wood finish, wipe our feet and not slide. The non-skid product is available at marine stores and use this to cover the shelves in the cabinets

Vicki went to Bed Bath & Beyond and bought a kitchen rug which we cut to shape. They have a Microfibre Neoprene top surface (very easy to clean) and a non-skid foam rubber backing. There are several examples here on their website.

We are also using the microfibre, neoprene kitchen rugs from Bed Bath & Beyond as found on the website Bruce posted. They work well on the inboard step and cabin sole when cut to shape and are machine washable. We have used them for over a year with no deterioration of the backing and no marks on the floor.
