Tugnutters,
We had such a great time, I would like to propose a "Half Way There" cruise. Since March will be "Half Way" to the 2nd Rendezvous, how about a weekend in March where we all cruise into a destination marina? I understand that some of the vessels from out of state and out of the country may not want to make the trip in March but I think we would have a great time.

No agenda, no plan, just get together and have a good time?

Suggestions for venues:
Bell Harbour
Elliott Bay
Gig Harbour
Poulsbo
Port Orchard
Port Ludlow
Eagle Harbour

Dave great thoughts...

Bell harbor is always awesome and willing to accept a group.
Eagle harbor could be fun.
What about Swantown in Oly? Or Des Moines?

Where ever we end up...Count us in...As long as it is later in the month.

Drew

Talked to Bell Harbor. It looks like we could get in March 19-21. They prefer a minimum of 8 boats to schedule a group. At 14 boats we can secure the entire dock. The 1st 14 boats will be charged the regular moorage and then what ever we can squeeze in is at no charge and can split with the others.

Just FYI

Drew

We'd love to have a meet-up to look forward to. All the years we spent thinking about/wanting/finding a boat, we'd often walk down to Bell Harbor Marina for fish tacos, and look at boats.

Now that we have Moondance, and are moored up at the top of the Bay, we've been looking for a good excuse to spend a few nights as "guests" in our neighborhood marina. Haven't been to Eagle Harbor yet, either, and I'm looking at it out the window as I type this.

In any case, barring a date conflict, we'd look forward to joining you.

Cheers

You can definitely count Laxey in for this G2G. 😀

Well Drew, I guess you pick the place and the date as people have started to sign up for our "Halfway There Cruise"! We currently have four boats that are saying to count them in.

To bring everyone up to speed, the cruise will be to Bell Harbour in downtown Seattle on March 19th through the 21st. There will be no agenda, no additional cruise, no prizes, no nothin....... just a whole lot of sit around talking boats and having a good time. We could probably arrange to all go to dinner one night at one of the local restaurants. If you have never been to Bell Harbour before, it is in a great setting. Maureen and I spent two nights there this last week. We went to bed looking out the windshield at the downtown skyline and woke up each morning looking out at it again. It is a two block walk to Pikes.

We need ten more boats to make the 14 boat minimum to reserve the entire dock. Don't wait for this one as the space is very limited in Bell Harbour!

If there's spare time we could always take a quick run up to Boeing's Everett plant and tour their 787 assembly line. Hopefully by then it will be in the air. 😉 This however, may take up too much time and maybe will only be of interest to people who don't live around Jet City. 😉

Bell Harbor Marina offers a short run the Duwamish Waterway - an interesting look at the urban industrial and residential waterfront that lines the river along and below Harbor Island. It meanders under a number of bridges, past moored freighters and barges, the Boeing airfield, down to Delta Marine, where there are always a number of mega-yachts going through refit and commissioning.

A nice side trip by boat.

Hi Dave and Maureen. What a great idea ! Kim and I would love to join in. How about Friday Harbor or Roche Harbor as possible locations????....kinda half way between all of you and us Canucks!
Let us know your thoughts.

I think I can make this work...will be on spring break from about March 18 thru 28...and hope to reconnect with my fellow Tugnutians from Ranger Rendezvous 2009.

Hope all is well with everyone...don't winterize that boat yet. There's still plenty of good boating in the sound and area waters throughout the winter months.

John

Hey Tugnutters,
Any more thought on the "Half Way There Cruise"? This is a celebration of making it half way to the 2010 Rendezvous. The current plan is to hold it at Bell Harbor in downtown Seattle on March 19th through the 21st. We currently have four vessels that have said that they would like to attend. We could look at moving it further north if it would mean more vessels would attend. Please post your thoughts if are interested.

Hi
Half way there cruise members

It might be fun going through the locks into Lake Washington for a short cruise.

We are up to six confirmed vessels for the half way to Bremerton cruise. Below is the list of those that have said they are planning to attend. Again the dates are March 19th through the 21st. So far Blake Island and Bell Harbor have been suggestions as to the destination.

Dennis on "Tug of my Heart" suggests we go through the locks into Lake Washington! Thoughts?????

Remember, this is a casual event. Just to tied everyone over until the big Rendezvous in September.

4. Barry and Gill, Laxey, R-25

6. Bob and Nita, Nellie Too, R-29

Thanks to all of you!

I'll throw Dock Street Marina, on the Thea Foss Waterway in Tacoma, into the mix. The dock master offered a 25% discount. It's a great facility in a nice location. It is the furthest south, so the discount may not be the deciding factor. Here're some pictures from our last stay.

Bell Harbor is central and we can make reservations. Blake Island is a great spot, and cheap even if you don't have a pass, but we can't reserve slips. It's likely we'd all get in, and rafting is allowed.

Cheers

I would like to sign up

We get our new Ranger 29 around the first of march 2010 and have never boated in that area. We live in Colorado. We plan on spending a few weeks there getting to know our new boat before leaving seattle and might be interested in joining if the timing works out. We need to spend sometime with the boat getting it outfitted in the first week of march adding solar and other fun toys. I feel that it would be a good way to get to know other tugnuts and to learn about your waters in the PNW.
Hope the timing works out for us, Stuart&Bridget

Can you tentatively put the Laurie Ann on the list for the half-way cruise? We are still a little uncertain of our plans for the month of March, but if we are here in the PNW we would definitely like to atted!
