The fog is thick here on Shelter Island as 2013 fades away. The friendly horn steadily sounds a reassuring voice during this moist and thick darkness.
Tucked inside Cascadia I contemplate the year just ending, including favorite memories of times together with Tugnuts at Fisherman's Terminal in Seattle in May, the Desolation Sound Cruise in July/August and the Rendezvous at Cap Sante in Anacortes in September. What a summer to remember!
Looking ahead to the year about to begin here along the Pacific Coast, I am surrounded by books of voyages near and far, covering maritime adventures from various centuries, including Great Voyages in Small Boats, The Hidden Coast, North to the Night, Voyages to Windward, Two Years Before the Mast, Seeking Western Waters and Watertrail. Mingle in guidebooks such as The South Coast of British Columbia, The North Coast of British Columbia and Exploring Southeast Alaska to help build new dreams. Flavor with Beginnings, A Meditation on Coast Salish Lifeways and Daughters of Copper Woman, to hear and experience NW tales and dream beyond this dark and foggy night in San Diego as 2014 arrives.
Happy memories and fun dreams to Tugnuts everywhere 🙂
